About La Cima World Missions

La Cima was founded by Dr. David and Marty Sperow.  They are a husband and wife team that spent time living and working as full-time missionaries in Honduras, Central America.  There they worked in a small medical/dental clinic in the village of Canchias.

In the time they were there, they were pushed well outside their comfort zones as God accomplished many amazing feats before their eyes and at their hands.

Many relationships were developed in the time they spent in Honduras that can only be described as God at work.  Governmental, personal, and medical connections were made that pointed to a God-sized task in the making.  David and Marty returned to the United States and organized La Cima.

The Board of Directors is a group of individuals, in the medical and dental professions, with hearts for missions.  Our main goal is to follow God’s call and watch as He works through His servants.

What does “La Cima” mean?

La Cima is Spanish for “the summit” or “the mountain top.”  One of the most common descriptors of a medical mission trip is that it “was a mountain top experience.”  We wanted to capture that in our name.  When you go where God is working, it takes you to a high point that can be experienced but never fully described.

We encourage you to consider a mission trip, if that is where God is calling you, even if it is not through La Cima.  Rest assured if you have never done it before, it can be a life-changing experience.
